Jewell Dominates the Glass to Down Drury 68-58

LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's basketball team won their eighth game season, and sixth in the last seven, by defeating Drury University 68-58 on Thursday evening. The Cardinals move to 8-6 on the year and 4-2 in GLVC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After Drury jumped out to an early 12-6 lead, the Cardinals went on a 12-0 run led by two three pointers from both Trey Shannon and Grant Stubbs. The Panthers hit a jumper with just over a minute left in the opening half, to make it a 38-31 Jewell at the break.
  • The Cardinals came out of the intermission firing, quickly pushing their lead to 14, after back-to-back jumpers from Heri Tshiyoyo. Jewell maintained a double-double digit lead for the duration of the game on their way to the win.
