ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The William Jewell men's basketball team worked through early shooting troubles to rally late and down Maryville 62-60. The win moves the Cardinals to 10-8 on the season, matching their most wins in the Chris McCabe era. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• It was a slow start for both teams offensive but particularly for Jewell who went scoreless for the first six-plus minutes before Heri Tshiyoyo finally broke the ice.
• A three by Grant Stubbs got the Cardinals within one, 6-5, but Maryville used a 12-4 run to open up a nine point advantage. A Mason Alexander layup with under 30 seconds to go in the opening half made it a 26-21 game at the break. 
• After getting close multiple times, the Cardinals finally tied the game at 30 on two free throws from Kobe McKinley with just over 15 minutes to play. 
• Tied at 40, both offenses lit up, combining for 30 points over a span of seven minutes to remain tied with under two minutes to go. Jordan Jermain scored five straight points to put the Cardinals on top for good.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jermain led the Cardinals with 16 points on 3-of-7 from three. 
• McKinley added 14 points, five rebounds and two steals while Tshiyoyo pulled down a game-high nine boards.
• After connecting on just 33% of shots and 20% from three in the first half, Jewell shot 55% in the second 20 minutes. 
• The Cardinals forced 15 turnovers, leading to 18 points, including 12 in the second half.
