LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's basketball team suffered a 66-57 set back at the hands of Maryville University on Thursday evening to snap a four-game winning streak. The Cardinals drop to 6-6 on the season, 2-2 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Things started slow for both teams, combining for just 10 points in the first eight-plus minutes. Leading by two, 15-13, Maryville went on 5-0 spurt to grab a seven point advantage with 6:10 to go in the first half. The Cardinals got back within one but a traditional three point play just before the half gave the Saints a six point lead at the break. 
• Maryville opened the second half with a 19-10 run to open up their largest lead of the day at 45-30. A three by Isaac Patterson kick started an 8-1 Cardinal run to get Jewell back within eight but that was as close as the Cardinals would get. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Kobe McKinley and John Zimmerman each had 10 points to lead the Cardinals.
• McKinley added eight rebounds while Mason Alexander handed out three assists.
• Jewell forced Maryville into 18 turnovers, leading to 23 points, while committing just 10 themselves. 
• The Cardinals shot a season-low 30.5% from the floor including 25% from three.
