LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team struggled to score in the second half on Saturday, falling 69-38 to Quincy University to drop to 1-10 overall and 0-5 in GLVC action. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Both teams stumbled out of the gates with just two free throws being the only points for more than three minutes. Buckets from Skyler Boyland and Libby Arnold cut the Quincy lead in half, 8-4 at the media timeout but the Hawks finished on a 10-3 run to lead 18-7 after one period. 
• Jewell found a rhythm offensively in the second quarter, opening up with a 5-1 run capped by a traditional three-point play from Lea Finn. A three by Kate Hillyer pulled the Cardinals within nine, 24-15, but two free throws late, made it an 11 point game at the break. 
• The Cardinals were outscored 38-18 in the final two quarters, shooting 26% from the floor.

• Hillyer led the Cardinals with 13 points and seven rebounds. 
• Katie Knock handed out three assists and grabbed three steals.
