LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to McKendree University on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals fall to 8-11 overall and 1-4 in GLVC play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell jumped out to a 21-15 lead in set one after kills from Anna Godfredsen and Katy Garrison. The Bearcats rallied however, finishing the set on an 11-3 run to win 26-24. 
• A block from Bella LaPorta and Tatum Ernt capped a 4-0 run late in set two to put the Cardinals on top by two, 20-18. Leading by one Jewell used another block by LaPorta and Dvorak followed by a service ace to win 25-22 and tie the match. 
• Each team went on a string of small runs in set three with the Bearcats getting the last word, finishing on a 4-1 run to win 25-18 and go on top two sets, to one. 
• McKendree burst out to a 20-9 run in set four and won 25-15 to take the match. 

KEY STATS

• LaPorta put up a double-double of 14 kills and 11 digs, along with three aces to lead the Cardinals. 
• Haidan Baade had a match high 18 digs while Drew Baxter put up 23 assists.

Jewell is on the road for the next two weeks, traveling to Indianapolis on Friday followed by a stop at Lewis on Saturday.
