LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team put up a challenge against nationally ranked Quincy University but fell in three sets to fall to 12-14 overall and 2-8 in the GLVC. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After Quincy rolled out to an early 8-2 lead, the Cardinals settled down and went on a 4-0 run behind a block and kill from Bell LaPorta. Jewell stayed within striking distance until late when the Hawks used a 5-3 run to take the set 25-18. 
• Trailing 20-16 in set two the Cardinals went on a 6-1 run to knot the score at 23-all. However, a kill and an ace gave Quincy the set 25-23. 
• The Hawks grabbed an early 10-4 lead and never looked back in set three, winning 25-16. 

KEY STATS

• LaPorta finished with 13 kills and 18 digs while Tatum Ernt added five blocks. 
• Haidan Baade had 21 digs with Samantha Thompson picking up 17 assists.
