LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell football team got off to a strong start on Saturday afternoon but dropped a 48-14 decision to No. 15 ranked Indianapolis. The Cardinals fall to 1-9 on the season, 0-5 in GLVC play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Things started well for the Cardinals who recovered a fumble by UIndy at the 22-yard line. Three plays later Taylor Eggers connected with Keavian Long for 17 yards to the end zone to put Jewell on top. 
• The Greyhounds put 17 points on the board to go out in front. Jewell pulled back within in after a four-yard touchdown pass to Winston Quinn but UIndy added a field goal to make it 20-14 at the break. 
• Indianapolis added 28 unanswered points in the second half.  

KEY STATS

• Eggers finished with a team high 23 rushing yards and 97 yards passing on eight completions. 
• Long had 47 receiving yards while Kavan Johnson added 36. 
• Adam Callahan picked up 10 tackles while Sean Mitchell and Carson Anderson had nine. 
• Edd Becton finished with seven stops, including two for loss.
