INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The William Jewell men's basketball team suffered a 72-56 setback on Thursday night at Indianapolis. The loss drops the Cardinals to 3-6 on the season and 1-2 in league play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Both the Cardinals and UIndy took turns going on short runs in the first half half. After they Greyhounds opened up an early 11-5 lead, Jewell responded to tie the game at 13 after a traditional three-point play by Eli Wingert. 
• UIndy expanded their lead to 12 late in the half, but a three from Isaac Patterson and free throw by Kobe McKinley made it an eight point game at the break, 36-28.
• The Greyhounds grew their lead by as many as 21 late in the second half. Jewell got five points in the final minute from Luke Jordan and Kaleb Becker to bring the score to the final.

KEY STATS

• Mason Alexander led three players in double figures with 13 points. 
• McKinley picked up 10 points and a game high seven rebounds. Wingert got into double figures for the first in his young career with 11 points. 
• Jewell out rebounded UIndy 31-24 but committed a season high 22 turnovers.
