LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team moved to 16-5 on the season, 3-1 in the GLVC on Sunday with a 7-3 win over Missouri-St. Louis. The Cardinals took three of four in their the conference opening series. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After UMSL scored two unearned runs early before the Cards tied things up in the fifth with RBI from Quincy Aldrich and Jake Wilcox.  
• In the seventh, Jewell took their first lead as three free passes loaded the bases for Anthony Hansen put a sacrifice fly into center followed by an RBI groundout by Alex Epp. 
• The Tritons got one back but Jewell plated three insurance runs in the top of the ninth to put the game out of reach. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Epp finished with a team high three hits while Chase Elias added two. 
• Drew Reed drew three walks and scored twice. 
• Drew Dant (3-0) earned the win, working 3.1 frames in relief.

Jewell is back in action on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup at Truman.
