KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team dropped a non-conference 13-3 decision at Truman State on Tuesday afternoon. The loss drops the Cardinals to 16-6 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jewell got off to a strong start as Anthony Hansen and Cameron Fliege hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the first.
- Truman scored nine unanswered runs over the next four frames before Jonah Sanford singled to center scoring Alex Epp.
- The Bulldogs added four runs in the bottom of the sixth and got three quick outs to end the game early in seven innings.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Cardinals posted 13 hits, led by Fliege's three.
- Sanford, Epp, Drew Reed and Jake Wilcox all finished with two hits apiece.
- Levi Ebersoldt (0-2) took the loss, allowing seven earned runs over 2.1 innings.
