LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team completed a three-game sweep of Upper Iowa on Sunday afternoon with a 7-6 walk off win. The Cardinals move 7-2 on the season with the win. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Upper Iowa got on the board first with three runs on five hits in the top of the third.
• Jewell cut the deficit to one in the fourth frame after RBI from Jonah Sanford and Ryan Dickerson. In the fifth, Jake Wilcox singled to center, swiped second and scored on a single by Cole Conner to tie the game. 
• The Cardinals took their first lead in the bottom of the sixth as Drew Reed led off with a double before scoring on an RBI single from Sanford. 
• The Peacocks went back in front in the seventh, taking advantage of four Jewell errors, to plate three runs.
• Jewell wasted no time responding, scoring two runs on two hits and a UIU error to tie the game, 6-6. 
• In the bottom of the ninth, Quincy Aldrich led off the frame with a double to right center and took third on a sac bunt. Aldrich and Sanford followed with a perfectly executed squeeze play to score the winning run. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell outhit Upper Iowa, 14-7, led by three from Conner. Aldrich, Sanford and Alex Epp each had two. 
• Sanford put together one of the best games of his young career, also adding three RBI and a stolen base. 
• Brogan McDougall (2-0) earned the win in relief, working three innings, not allowing a hit.

Jewell is back in action next weekend as they host Wisconsin-Parkside for a four-game series at Fountain Bluff Sports Complex.
