Jewell Hosts Southwest Baptist for Senior Day

LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell softball team hosts Southwest Baptist on a light weekend of GLVC action. Saturday's doubleheader with the Bearcats will also serve as Senior Day for the Cardinals.

CARDINAL NOTES
  • Jewell is coming off a non-conference split with Lincoln University of Missouri on Tuesday, winning the nightcap 4-2. Overall, the Cardinals are 12-26 and 5-15 in league play. 
  • Allison Rawls leads the offense with a .327 average, 35 hits, eight doubles and 26 runs scored. 
  • Ella Hoffman hit her team leading fifth home run last weekend against Illinois Springfield while Hailey Wall had four to her name. 
  • Sydney Parra continues to lead the staff with 19 appearances and a 3.89 ERA. Kenzie Jones and Aliyah Santiago have combined for 10 wins and 99 strikeouts over 163 innings.  
  • Between games, Jewell will honor six seniors including Kenzie Jones, Abby Dubinski, Hailey Wall, Kolbee Kealoha, Aly Manhart and graduate student Allison Rawls
  • Dustin Combs is in his 16th season with the Cardinals, chasing win No. 400 for his career and a return to the GLVC Tournament for the first time since 2018.

  • Southwest Baptist comes into the weekend on a bit of a skid, having dropped their last 11 and sitting at 6-28 on the season. 
  • Margo Frossard and Abby Henson both hit over .300 for the Bearcats and combine for 20 runs and 24 RBI. 
  • Emma Wood has made a team high 15 appearances and 10 starts and has a 7.00 ERA while Reilly Rupert leads the staff with a 3.66 ERA over 14 games played and 51.2 innings. 
  • Carly Adkins is in her first season with the Bearcats after serving as the assistant coach at Bowling Green State. As a collegiate player for the University of Illinois, she appeared in 224 games with a .343 career average and school record 68 doubles.
