LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Drury University on Saturday afternoon in Talley Stadium. The Cardinals fell 6-4 and 12-6 to drop to 29-19 on the season, 14-13 in conference play.
GAME ONE: Jewell 4, Drury 6
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Drury grabbed the first lead of the day with a solo home run in the second but the Cardinals responded in the bottom half as Drew Reed led off with a bloop double and scored on an error.
- Another solo home run put the Panthers back in front but again the Cardinals rallied, scoring two on an Anthony Hansen double down the left field line to take their first lead, 3-2.
- A third solo shot tied the game at three before Drury retook the lead with a run in the top of the sixth.
- Quincy Aldrich blasted the first Cardinal long ball of the day to knot the game up again but two runs in the top of the seventh pushed Drury to the win.

GAME TWO: Jewell 6, Drury 12
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In game two it was the Cardinals who took the early lead after a two-run home run into the left field bullpen by Cameron Fliege in the bottom of the first.
- Drury scored one run in the second before plating three in the fourth to go on top.
- Jake Wilcox battled through a 12 pitch at bat in the home half of the fourth inning before knocking a two run double down the left field line to knot things up once again.
- The Panthers exploded for six runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to sweep the doubleheader.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Fliege and Conner each had two hits, including a home run while Wilcox also drove in two.
- Jake MacDonald (6-3) took the loss, allowing seven runs with four strikeouts.

Jewell wraps up the regular season on Sunday against the Panthers with a spot in the GLVC Tournament on the line. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
