LEBANON, Ill. - The William Jewell men's basketball team fell 68-51 on Saturday at McKendree University, dropping to 5-3 on the year and 0-2 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Back-to-back threes from Grant Stubbs and Isaac Patterson gave Jewell an early 6-2 lead but the Bearcats came right back to take the lead with 16:12 remaining in the opening half. The teams traded buckets over the next six minutes until a 12-0 McKendree run and take a 34-26 lead into the half. 
• The Bearcats extended their lead to 16 early in the second period before Jewell turnover the burners. Trailing 42-26, the Cardinals went on a 17-0 run, holding McKendree scoreless for nearly eight minutes, to take a 43-42 lead with 13 minutes to play. From there, the Bearcats finished the game on a 16-9 run to win 68-51.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell shot 34% but McKendree was a blistering 67.4% from the floor. 
• Stubbs finished with a team high 11 points while Kobe McKinley added nine. 
• The Cardinals forced 23 turnovers leading to 22 points.
