LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team endured a cold shooting night on route to a 75-48 loss to Lewis University on Thursday to drop to 4-22 on the season and 2-14 in GLVC play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Both teams started the game slow offensively, combining to go just 5-for-21 over the first five minutes. Trailing 8-4 with less than four minutes to play, the Cardinals got buckets from Emree Zars and Ayden Shannon to tie the game at eight. 
• The Flyers went on a 12-0 run early in the second quarter to got back in front and pushed their advantage to 16 by halftime, leading 36-20 at the break. 
• Jewell's offense got back on track in the fourth quarter, shooting 41% from the field and trailed the Flyers just 18-17 in the period. Shannon and Libby Arnold combined for nine points late but Lewis defeated the Cardinals 75-48.

KEY STATS

• Shannon finished with a team high 14 points while Bree Shannon and Chloe Frank grabbed six rebounds a piece. 
• Jewell shot 26% from the floor, going 17-for-65 on the day.
