LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team used four big innings to defeat Bemidji State by a final of 17-3 on Sunday afternoon to earn the four-game sweep. The Cardinals move to 7-3 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Beavers took an early lead with a two-run home run in the top of the first. 
• With two in scoring position in the bottom of the second, Ben Click sent his second three-run home run in two days over the left center wall to put the Cardinals on top, 3-2. 
• Bemidji State quickly tied things up with a run on three hits in the top of the third. 
• In the bottom half, Jewell plated five runs on five hits, including an RBI double from Will Brant and singles by Kaden Owens and Jake Wilcox to lead 8-3. 
• Owens doubled in the following frame to score another run before the Cardinals added five more in the fifth, including a three-run home run from Jordan Phillips. 
• Jewell got three more in the bottom of the sixth on three straight bases loaded walks to end the game early. 

KEY STATS

• Wilcox was 5-for-5 on the day with two RBI and two runs scored. 
• Phillips had two hits, while driving in four runs and scoring another three. 
• Jewell totaled a season high 16 hits as Owens finished with three and Click added two and scored three times. 
• Jackson Bodinson (2-0) earned his second win with six strong innings, allowing just three earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
