LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team grabbed two wins on Wednesday evening, defeating Upper Iowa 13-4 and 9-4, to move to 9-3 on the season.

Game 1 (Jewell 13, Upper Iowa 4)
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell took the lead just two pitches into their half of the opening inning as Jake Wilcox singled and got to third on an error and immediately scored on a Dawson Tweet single to center. Jordan Phillips and Will Brant each knocked in another run before Drew Reed sent a two-run shot over the left center field wall to make it 5-0 early. 
• The Cardinals added a run in the second inning before plating two more in the third to make it an 8-0 lead. 
• Upper Iowa got on the board three runs but Jewell got five more in the bottom half of the fifth, taking advantage of five walks and a wild pitch followed by back-to-back doubles from Wilcox and Quincy Aldrich. 
• The Peacocks got one additional run top of the sixth to bring the score to the final of 13-4. 

KEY STATS

• Jewell pounded out 13 hits, including six doubles and one home run. Wilcox, Tweet, Reed, Alex Epp and Jonah Sanford each had two hits apiece. 
• Reed finished with a team high three RBI. 
• Chandler Jones (1-1) earned his first win as a Cardinal with a five inning start, allowing just one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts. 

Game 2 (Jewell 9, Upper Iowa 4)
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Upper Iowa took an early lead, taking the first pitch of game two over the left field wall, but the Cardinals came right back with three in the bottom half on an Epp double followed by a sac fly from Phillips. 
• Ben Click hit his third home run in as many games in the bottom of the second to make it a three run lead. 
• A solo home run from the Peacocks cut the lead in half but Jewell scored on a fielder's choice and sac fly in the bottom of the fourth to make it 6-2. 
• Upper Iowa hit another home run, a two-run shot, in the fifth. The Cardinals added three insurance runs on RBI from Aldrich and Brant to make it 9-4. 

KEY STATS

• Jewell finished with nine hits, led by three from Epp and two apiece by Brant and Click. 
• The Cardinals swiped four bases in the nightcap by Wilcox, Phillips, Click and Nick Chanez. 
• Aiden Flood (1-0) got the win in relief, working one inning with one strikeout. 
• Ryan Foley got the start, going four-plus frames.
