INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cydney Banks has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. 

The sophomore broke her own school record in the outdoor shot put with a throw of 14.62 meters on Saturday at the Lincoln Open to win the event. The mark is currently tops in the GLVC and fourth in NCAA Division II with a provisional mark. 

This is the first weekly honor for Banks and the first for the Cardinals since Margaret Perko in 2017.
