INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - William Jewell track and field has swept the Great Lakes Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week honors as
Cydney Banks and
Devonte Hubbard brought home the weekly awards.
Banks broke her own record in the women's shot put record at the Kansas Relays with a throw of 14.66 meters. The toss placed her second among collegiate athletes at the meet and extends her lead in the GLVC ranks and moves up to No. 5 in NCAA Division II. She wins her second consecutive weekly award.
On the men's side, Hubbard, put up a leap of 15.34 meters in the triple jump, placing third among college athletes, and breaking a 95-year-old record by nearly a full meter. His jump moved him into the top spot in the league and eighth nationally. Hubbard earns his first career weekly honor, the first outdoor award for the Cardinals since 2019 and the first ever field winner.
