MARION, Ill. - The William Jewell baseball team dropped a 12-4 decision to Drury University on Friday afternoon in the second round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. The Cardinals move to 30-22 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell got on the board first as Dawson Tweet singled and scored on an RBI base hit up the middle from Jordan Phillips.
• The Panthers rallied with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the first and added another on a solo home run in the third to lead 4-1. 
• In the top of the fifth, the Cardinals got two runs back on an RBI groundout from Alex Epp and a Drew Reed base hit to center. 
• Drury scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth and four more in the sixth to bring the score to the final of 12-4. 

KEY STATS

• Phillips led the squad with three hits while Tweet and Jake Wilcox added two each while also scoring twice. 
• Jackson Bodinson (6-4) took the loss, allowing eight earned runs over 4.1 innings.

The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. as they take on Maryville in an elimination game.
