ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to Missouri Western on the road on Tuesday night. The Cardinals drop to 6-8 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Missouri Western jumped out to an early 8-1 lead before the Cardinals put together a rally midway through. Two kills from Maliyah Johnson led a 6-2 run to get within 15-12 but the Griffons followed by closing the set out on a 10-2 run of their own. 
• Another early run from Missouri Western gave the Griffons a 20-10 lead as they cruised to a 25-15 win. 
• Set three remained close in the early going behind six kills from Katy Garrison to make it 17-14 in favor of MWSU. Another late run from the home team ended in a 25-18 win.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Bella LaPorta led the Cardinals with nine kills and 13 digs while Alex Dvorak also added nine kills. 
• Missouri Western hit .404 as a team while holding the Cardinals to a .161 attack percentage.
