ROLLA, Mo. - The William Jewell men's basketball team grabbed a 78-72 road victory on Saturday at Missouri S&T to improve to 11-6 overall and 5-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Both offenses started slow as the Cardinals went nearly four minutes before back-to-back Jordan Jermain triples got them on the board. Neither team could manage more than a three point lead until the final six minutes.
• Kobe McKinley's dunk jump started a 9-1 lead to give the Cardinals a 10-point advantage. The Miner's Kaden Froebe hit a near half court shot at the buzzer to make it 35-28 in favor of the Cardinals at the break. 
• Missouri S&T came out of the locker room and went on a 15-2 run to go in front by six. Justice Sutton's three stopped the run and another by McKinley eventually tied the game up at 47. 
• The Miners again pushed an advantage to six before Jewell rallied. Over the next seven-plus minutes the Cardinals went on a 22-10 run to go back on top 73-67 and force Missouri S&T to foul. Jewell made good on 5-of-6 free throws to secure the win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• McKinley poured in a game high 23 points and four assists while Jermain add 18 points and Sutton 13. 
• Isaac Patterson finished with 10 points and a team high eight rebounds. 
• Jewell was 12-for-29 from long range and 16-of-18 from the free throw line.

Jewell returns to the confines of the Mabee Center next week as they host Upper Iowa on Thursday followed by a date with Truman State on Saturday.
