INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - William Jewell College junior Martina Torrent was named this week's PNC GLVC Swim and Dive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after setting two new William Jewell pool records en route to three individual wins. This in addition to being a member on the first-place 200 Medley Relay team, announced by the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) office Tuesday.

Torrent finished first while breaking Kresge Pool records in the 100 Breaststroke (1:10.35) and the 200 Breast (2:35.31) in route to a 210-44 win over GLVC opponent Quincy University. The Banyoles, Spain native also won the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:25.30, and swam a 32.43 breast split on the first-pace 200 Medley Relay team Saturday.

It is the third career Athlete of the Week Award, and the second of the season for Torrent, who will be competing next at the GLVC Championships beginning February 6 in Evansville, Indiana.
