LIBERTY, Mo. - In their final non-conference game of the season, the William Jewell volleyball team fell 3-0 to Missouri Western to drop to 7-15 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Tied 6-6 early, the Griffons went on a 6-1 run to take the lead only to see Jewell respond with a 5-0 run of their own, led by their own to pull back within one. Missouri Western outscored the Cardinals 12-5 over the remainder of the first set to win 25-17.
• The Griffons again took the early lead but Jewell rallied to pull within one after a kill from Emma Lea Benney. A late 5-1 run from the Griffons gave the visitors a 25-20 win and 2-0 lead. 
• Trailing 12-7 in set three, Jewell scored five straight behind Samantha Thompson's serve to tie things up at 12. Both teams went back-and-forth until Missouri Western scored the final five points of the match to win 25-18, and 3-0.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell was held to just a .107 attack percentage as the Griffons posted 12 blocks. 
• Madison Grekstas led the offense with 11 kills on 24 attempts while Katy Garrison had three blocks. 
• Thompson posted 20 assists and a game high four aces. 
• Alexis Nunn had a game high 17 digs with Bella LaPorta adding 13.
