KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team fell in straight sets on Friday at Truman State to fall to 7-16 overall and 1-6 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Trailing 13-8 early in set one, the Cardinals rallied to eventually tie things p at 20 after a kill from Caroline Beckmann. Three kills and two errors by the Cardinals over the final seven points gave Truman the opener, 25-22. 
• Jewell fell into an early 14-5 hole but slowly chipped away to pull with 22-19 late in the set after two kills from Emma Lea Benney. The Bulldogs won three of the final four points, however, to win 25-20.
• Truman took a 20-14 lead and looked to be rolling late in set three but Katy Garrison sparked a 9-4 run to pull within one but a Bulldog kill gave them the 25-23 win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Garrison finished with a game high 12 kills while LaPorta had 10 to go with 10 digs. 
• Samantha Thompson finished with 20 assists to lead the Cardinals while Garrison had two blocks.
