ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The William Jewell volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision on Saturday at Lewis University to fall to 4-12 overall and 0-4 in conference action. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell played even with the Flyers early until the hosts went on a 9-1 run to go in front 22-13. A kill from Olivia Starr ended the skid but Lewis finished off the set, 25-16. 
• After the Cardinals took the early lead, Lewis used two different runs of 9-0 and 8-3 to take set two 25-16. 
• Tied at 13 midway through set three, the Flyers were aided by five Jewell errors to finish on a 12-3 run to sweep the match.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Cardinals were limited to a .027 attack percentage and were led offensively by Bella LaPorta and Madison Grekstas with nine kills each. 
• LaPorta added 17 digs with Alexis Nunn finishing with a team high 19.
• Samantha Thompson added a double-double of 12 assists and 14 digs.

The Cardinals return home next week for a three-game stand, beginning with Missouri S&T on Friday night.
