BOLIVAR, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team fell to Southwest Baptist on Saturday in straight sets to fall to 7-21 overall and 1-10 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After SBU took a 17-13 lead midway through the opening set, the Cardinals roared back to knot things up at 19-all. The Bearcats went back in front by four but a big block from Katy Garrison and Bella LaPorta got the Cards back within two. A kill from SBU's Hannah Jackson gave the Bearcats the 25-22 win. 
• It was the Cardinals who took the large lead in set two, going in front 19-12. SBU stormed back to eventually tie the score at 24. The teams traded set points until a kill and a block by SBU gave the Cats the 29-27 victory. 
• Southwest Baptist jumped out to and early 18-14 lead and rolled to a 25-16 win in the finale to get the 3-0 win.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell was held to a .092 attack percentage on the day, led by LaPorta's 14 kills and six blocks. 
• Samantha Thompson passed out 16 assists to surpass the 2,000 mark for her career while Alexis Nunn had 18 digs.
