LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-6 decision on Friday night at home to Concordia-St. Paul to fall to 1-6 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• CSP scored first but the Cardinals quickly responded with goals from Kaylee Gross and Olivia Fornelli to pull within 3-2. The Golden Bears expanded their lead to four late in the opening quarter but Gross converted a free position to make it 6-3 after 15 minutes of action. 
• Jewell scored two quick goals to start the second period as Fornelli and Toryn Podschwit scored to make it 7-5 and force a CSP timeout.
• After the teams went scoreless over the final nine-plus minutes of the first half, the Bears came out of the break and scored three goals in the opening 90 seconds of the second half. CSP outscored the Cardinals 8-0 in the third and 2-1 in the fourth to take the win.   

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Gross finished with a team high three goals while Fornelli added two scores and an assist. 
• The former also had a team best four ground balls, four caused turnovers and four draw controls. 
• Jewell was outshot 38-12 but forced 22 Golden Bear turnovers. 
• Haydin Gibson posted 10 saves in goal.
