LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-7 decision on Wednesday afternoon to Northern Michigan to fall to 1-4 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Wildcats jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead less than three minutes into action but Jewell responded with goals from Jacey Wynn, Jordan Wynn, and Olivia Fornelli to knot things up at three. 
• Northern Michigan went on a 15-0 run over the next two quarters to open up a commanding 18-3 advantage. 
• The fourth quarter belonged to the Cardinals as Kaylee Gross scored back-to-back goals followed by a pair from Toryn Podschwit to bring the score to the final. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Gross finished with a team high four points while Podschwit had six shots, including four on goal. 
• Mia Smith forced five turnovers and had a team high six ground balls. 
• Haydin Gibson recorded eight saves.

Jewell remains at home next Tuesday as they host Daemen University of New York at 2 p.m.
