QUINCY, Ill. - The William Jewell women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-3 decision on Friday night in the penultimate contest of their inaugural season. The Cardinals fall to 1-13 overall and 0-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Quincy scored twice in the opening three minutes of action to take an early lead. Addison Devers got Jewell on the board late in the first quarter on a feed from Olivia Fornelli. 
• The Hawks expanded their lead to 14 heading into the fourth quarter when Fornelli converted a free position shot. 
• Devers added another score late in the fourth period but the Hawks closed things out with two more of their own to win 17-3. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell won 12-of-22 draw controls, led by six from Fornelli who also had five shots on goal. 
• Kaylee Gross, Isabella Fleming and Haydin Gibson each had three ground balls. 

UP NEXT
Jewell will close out the 2024 season on Sunday at Missouri Western. The opening draw is scheduled for 12 p.m.
