PITTSBURG, Kan. - William Jewell sophomore
Caroline Mayes put together another standout performance on Saturday as she led the Cardinals at the 16th Annual David Suenerman Gorilla Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State.
Mayes set a new school record in the women's 100 meter hurdles at 13.98, breaking an eight-year-old record and becoming the first woman to go under 14 seconds. This is her fifth broken record this season and first of outdoor action. In addition to Mayes,
Lillian Bogard (high jump) and
Lukas LePage improved their standings on the all-time performers list with
Nathan Lightfoot (discus) and
Terran Mitchell (triple jump) joining for the first time.
Cydney Banks also put herself on another slot in the top-10 performances list in the shot put and hammer throw.
