QUINCY, Ill. - The William Jewell volleyball team was handed a 3-0 loss on Saturday at Quincy University to drop to 1-15 on the season and 0-5 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell held their own against one of the league's top teams in the early going, holding a 16-14 lead after a kill from Macy Bartlett. The Hawks went on a 7-1 run to grab a 23-17 lead before the Cardinals scored four straight to close the gap but Quincy got back-to-back kills to take the opener, 25-21. 
• The Hawks grabbed an early lead in set two but Jewell used a 7-2 run to knot things up at eight. Quincy went in front by six late before consecutive service aces from Ashlynn Rowland pulled the Cardinals within three before QU finished off the set, 25-18.
• Quincy used a mid-set run in set three to pull in front by seven and rolled to a 25-16 win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Cardinals tied their season high with eight blocks, paced by Wylie Singleton's five, with Emma Lea Benney and Macy Bartlett each grabbing two.  
• Reagan Bible finished with a career best 28 assists while Madison Roney had 13 digs. 
• Jewell hit .171 on the day, led by Benney's 11 kills.

Jewell continues the mid-season road trip as they head to the Midwest Region Crossover next weekend in Hammond, Indiana. The largest regular season college volleyball tournament in the country, the Crossover features all teams from the GLVC, GMAC, and GLIAC.
