Cardinals Start November on the Road at Missouri S&T

THIS WEEK'S ACTION:
vs. Missouri S&T (4-5, 2-4 GLVC)

Saturday, November 1, 2025
1:00 PM • Allgood-Bailey Stadium (Rolla, Mo.)

CARDINAL NOTES

  • William Jewell (2-6, 0-5) are headed out on the road this week for the first time since October 4 as they travel to Missouri S&T. The Miners enter the week at 4-5 overall and 2-4 in the league but have dropped three of their last four, falling 31-30 to Quincy last weekend.
  • Jewell is coming off a tough 28-10 loss to Upper Iowa where the Cardinal seemingly played well, despite the final score. Jewell held the Peacocks scoreless until late in the first half and ran out of gas, allowing two scores in the fourth quarter.
  • Jewell paces the GLVC and is fourth in Division in fumbles recovered with 12 total, one off the leaders of Benedict, Savannah State, and Ouachita Baptist who each have 13. Sonny Proctor leads the way with three to his credit, second most nationally while Justin Endicott, Max McKenzie, and Jonny Williams each have two.
  • After bursting on the scene as a freshman in 2023 with six touchdowns on 24 catches, Nate Barnett slowed slightly last year with three scores for 264 yards on the same number of receptions. This fall he is back to his old self, already hauling in 27 passes for five touchdowns and a career high 442 yards. The junior is averaging more than 55 receiving yards per game with two of the top-three longest receptions of the season in the GLVC.
  • Barnett's success is, in part, thanks to the emergence of other options on the outside, including Reece Thomas, Xavier Winston, and Yasir Winston who holds the longest reception in the league this season at 79 yards at UIndy. Additionally, AJ Austene, Beau Doughty, and Layne Cavanah have continued their consistent efforts as Jewell has seen at least 10 players with a reception in two different games this fall.
  • Bleu Renfrow was recently named to the Fred Mitchell Award Midseason Watch List, recognizing outstanding place kickers. One of five Division II players on the 38-member list, the Cardinal rookie is 25th nationally and third in the league with a 75% clip (9-of-12)on field goal attempts with four makes of at least 40 yards. The Liberty native hit a 45-yard attempt last weekend with his season best of 52 yards against Fort Lewis, marking the longest in the GLVC this season.
  • Senior center Nash Gagliano picked up his 40th career start last weekend, the most of any active player. The Cardinals are young this season but boast five players with at least 25 starts as seniors Justin Endicott (33), Andrew Bontrager (35), Dylan Tighe (29), and Layne Cavanah (28) have all been on the depth chart throughout their careers.
