LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team fell 58-30 on Thursday night to William Penn University in non-conference action. The Cardinals drop to 0-8 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cardinal offense struggled in the opening 20 minutes, connecting on just one field goal and trailing 28-4 at the break. 
• Jewell outscored the Statesmen 20-13 in the fourth quarter. Trailing by a game high 37, back-to-back layups from Rylee Thompson and Taryn Jacobs sparked a run by the Cardinals, outscoring William Penn 9-0 the remainder of the way.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Cardinals pulled down a season best 46 rebounds, the highest total since January 2023. Jewell was led by Jacobs' nine boards while Jacee Peterson had eight, Jalea Price seven, with Maja Komaszynska adding six. 
• Peterson blocked a season high four shots, the most by a Cardinal since Katie Corday's four against Evangel in November 2015.
• Jacobs and Price finished with a team high seven points.
