WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team started strong on Saturday afternoon but ran out of momentum, falling 83-43 at Central Missouri to drop to 0-9 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell hit four three pointers in the first quarter, two each from Jalea Price and Alex Garrah, to trail the Jennies by just two, 21-19, after 10 minutes. 
• While the Cardinals shot 44% in the second period, Central Missouri connected on a blistering 71% and scoring 27 points in the frame to open up a 48-31 halftime lead. 
• The Cardinals kept pace in the early part of the second half, being outscored just 16-12 but a 19-0 fourth quarter allowed UCM to break away to the 83-43 win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• McGarrah led Jewell with a career high 17 points while Price added a dozen and four assists. 
• Maja Komaszynska was tops with five rebounds.

Jewell is off until January 2 when they return to Great Lakes Valley Conference play at Missouri S&T.
