ROLLA, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team got off to a strong start but a cold third quarter allowed Missouri S&T to separate and down the Cardinals 67-47. Jewell drops to 0-10 on the season and 0-4 in conference play with Miners improving to 6-4 (2-2 GLVC). 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cardinals hit three early triples in the first quarter to lead 13-12 after 10 minutes. Jewell started the second period with a 9-4 run, capped by a layup from Maja Komaszynska to take their largest lead at 22-16. The Miners responded to knot things up at 29-all at the break. 
• Missouri S&T outscored the Cardinals 26-4 in the third quarter, shooting 56%, while holding Jewell to just 13% from the field pulling ahead by as many as 22. The Cards got two free throws from Jacee Peterson to pull back within 14 but could get no closer.   

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Nine different players scored for the Cardinals, led by Komaszynska's nine to go with a team high seven rebounds. 
• The Cardinals shot 32% from the floor and scored 11 second chance points.
