HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The William Jewell lacrosse team fell 17-7 on Tuesday at the hands of Alabama Huntsville in the second of a southern spring break trip. The Cardinals move to 2-7 on the season with the loss. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a scoreless opening quarter, UAH exploded, scoring five goals over the first two-plus minutes of the second period. Nathaniel Leroux got the Cardinals on the board with just over 10 minutes to play in the half, on a feed from Seth Heath. The Chargers expanded their advantage to 8-1 before Leroux added another goal. 
• Both offenses found a groove in the third quarter, scoring 10 combined goals. Kade Barvitz got things started for Jewell, scoring back-to-back goals followed by a goal from Hudsin DenHartog and another by Carson Wright to make it 15-6 after three frames. 
• Barvitz added another score in the fourth but Jewell could get no closer, falling 17-7.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell was out shot 50-25 and were 18-of-23 on clear attempts. 
• Barvitz led the Cardinals with three goals while Leroux added two and Brenner Mitts had a team high two assists.

Jewell returns home on March 29 to open Great Lakes Valley Conference play against Maryville at 3 p.m.
