LIBERTY, Mo. – William Jewell decided seven innings was enough Friday night as they run-ruled Truman State 13-3. After scoring eight runs in the first two innings, Jewell cruises to a 9-12 record and their second GLVC win to be 2-7 in conference action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The batters into the game Jordan Phillips blasted a two-run homer to left center field to give Jewell an early 2-0 lead.
- Jonah Sanford led-off the second with an infield single to third, ultimately scoring off a Bulldogs wild pitch. A sac-fly from centerfielder Cale Blasi made it 4-0.
- Jewell was not done, after loading the bases Ben Click blasted his first homer of the year to make it 8-0.
- Coming in to pinch hit, Camden Dayton demolished a two-run shot in the fourth after Jewell allowed one run in the top half of the inning to leave the inning up 10 runs.
- Truman scored two in the top of the seventh but it was not enough to erase the run-rule as Jewell won 13-3.
