SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The William Jewell baseball team fell 15-5 in eight innings to Drury University on Sunday afternoon, marking the four-game sweep for the Panthers. With the 10-run loss Jewell is 6-9 and winless in conference play with four losses.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Just like game three of the series Jewell got on the board first with a Ben Click RBI single.
• The Cardinals gave up two runs leading into the third when Evan Jilbert scored from third due to an error by the Panther second baseman to tie the game at 2-2. Two batters later Jonah Sanford grounded out but Justin George was able to cross home to grant Jewell a 3-2 lead.
• Teams would trade runs through the middle innings with the Cardinals holding onto a 5-4 lead after the top of the 5^th, but Drury would plate 11 runs over the next three innings to take a 15-5 run-rule series-sweeping win.

KEY STATS

• Nick Taylor got the game four start going 2.1 innings while Brody Grawe would receive the loss in his relief appearance.
• Jilbert tallied four hits, including two doubles, in his most single-game hits since he had five on April 13, 2024 versus McKendree.
