LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-4 decision on Tuesday morning to Dominican University of California to wrap up non-conference play. The Cardinals fall to 5-5 on the season while Dominican moves to 11-1. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Dominican got off to a hot start, scoring twice in the first five minutes before Olivia Fornelli scored a player-up goal to get Jewell on the board. The Penguins closed the first half on a 5-0 run to lead 7-1 at the break. 
• Kaylee Gross scored her 19th goal of the season 30 seconds into the second half with Elle Eastwood finding cage to close the third period.
• The visitors expanded their lead to 10 late in the game before Zoey Keefer picked up a ground ball and found Fornelli for a score. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Penguins out shot Jewell 35-14 with the Cardinals forcing 21 turnovers and won nine draw controls, led by five from Fornelli. 
• Isabella Fleming caused four turnovers with Gross and Kennedy Madison having three. 
• Claire Eastwood played all 60 minutes in cage with nine saves. 
• Fornelli led the offense with two goals on six shots.
