KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's lacrosse faced off with Rockhurst University on Thursday night in the opener of the Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule. The Cardinals fell 13-4 to drop to 5-6 on the season and 0-1 in league action. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sara Polovina opened the scoring with a goal just over two minutes in with Elle Eastwood adding another score to make it 2-1 Cardinals.
• Rockhurst scored five unanswered before Fia Lamanno stopped the run with her 10th goal of the season. 
• The Hawks outscored Jewell 5-1 in the second half to win 13-4.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Olivia Fornelli finished with three points to lead the offense while Eastwood had seven total shots. 
• Claire Eastwood picked up a season high 16 saves in cage. 
• The teams combined for 62 errors as Elle Haan finished with three caused turnovers.
