JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - William Jewell baseball run-ruled Lincoln University (Mo.) on Friday afternoon, 17-4. Jewell saw three homers and outhit the first year GLVC program on the afternoon. Jewell is 16-18 on the year after the win, with an 8-9 conference record.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell bats got off hot early, Evan Jilbert started things off with a solo homer in the first, followed by an RBI single from Justin George. Later in the inning the Cardinals plated two more courtesy of Jonah Sanford and Luke Linder who reached on an error.
• In the fourth Jordan Phillips got things started with a two-run RBI double to center to go up 6-0. George and Sanford continued their afternoons with a pair of RBI singles for an eight run lead.
• After Luke Bies laid down a bunt single, Will McCombs went yard. Two batters later with Jilbert on it was Phillips' turn, sending a two run shot to left center for a 12-0 lead.
• Up 14-2 in the sixth, Jake Schulte popped a sac fly to left for his first career RBI.
• Jewell plated two more runs to run-rule Lincoln 17-4 in game one of the series.

KEY STATS

• Charlie Rambo struck out a career-high nine batters en route to a complete game where he issues no walks.
• Jewell had seven multi-hit players, including Will McCombs who went 4-for-6 with two RBIs and a homer.
• The Cardinals stole a season high six bases in the win.
