LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's lacrosse program earned their first Great Lakes Valley Conference win on Friday afternoon with a 20-10 victory over Quincy University. After just one non-conference win a year ago, the Cardinals have improved to 6-6 in 2025 and are 1-1 in league action. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After Quincy scored two quick goals, Jewell took the momentum with three straight from three different players to take their first lead. The Hawks tied it up at 3-all but Jewell got three more scores, including two free position goals, to lead 6-3 after one frame. 
• Both teams scored three times in quarter two as the Cardinals were on top 9-6 at the break. 
• The Hawks scored an early goal to start the second half but Jewell followed with eight unanswered goals to take a commanding 17-7 lead. QU added three more but so did the Cardinals to finish with the 20-10 win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Cardinals out shot their opponent 39-23 with 33 of those being on goal. 
• Olivia Fornelli paced the offense with six goals, the most by a Cardinal in the young program's tenure. Elle Eastwood added four scores and an assist while Kaylee Gross, Fia Lamanno, Toryn Podschwit, and Ella Childress all scored at least twice. 
• Jewell had 18 draw controls and forced 26 turnovers, led by five caused from Zoey Keefer. 
• Claire Eastwood played all 60 minutes in cage, with seven saves.
