INDIANAPOLIS - The William Jewell men's lacrosse team put up a fight against the Indanapolis Greyhounds, who are receiving votes in the national polls, but fell 6-5. The Cardinals move to 2-9 on the year, and 0-2 in GLVC play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• UIndy scored first in the opening frame but Nathaniel Leroux came back with a goal just over two minutes later to knot things up at one a piece.
• The Cardinals took the 2-1 lead into the halftime break as Declan Fines found Jaxson Lenz for a score. 
• Fines scored himself to open the third quarter but the the Hounds responded with two goals to knot things up again. A second score from Fines and one by Seth Heath gave Jewell a 5-4 lead heading into the final 15 minutes. 
• UIndy tied things up at 5-all early in the fourth and took the lead with less than five minutes to go. The Cardinals got off four shots in the final minutes, but could not convert. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell was out shot 44-27 but Fynn Ziebarth shined with 22 saves. 
• Fines finished with a team high three points with Matthew Peterson grabbing six ground balls. 
• Cody Kaiser won 7-of-11 face off attempts while Bear Anderson caused three turnovers.

The Cardinals return home on April 12 to face off with Rockhurst University at 1 p.m.
