LIBERTY, Mo. – William Jewell lost their fifth straight on Thursday night, 13-1 to the Rockhurst Hawks. Jewell falls to 20-27 on the season with a 11-18 conference mark.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• After three Hawk runs in the first, Jewell sent only three batters to the plate for the next two innings. 
• In the third inning a Jonah Sandford one-out single put Jonah Sanford on, while Luke Bies doubled to put to runners in scoring position but could not swing a runner home before the inning ended.
• It was all Rockhurst from there, scoring 10 runs in the last three innings to take a 13-0 lead. An intention walk in the bottom of the seventh with Jordan Phillips at the plate walked the lone Cardinal run in for a 13-1 final

KEY STATS

• Charlie Rambo received the loss, giving up 10 of the 13 runs while striking out five. While Jack Wells, Brayden Blundell and Justin Agnor all made appearances in relief. 
• In addition to being intentionally walked in the seventh, Phillips was 2-for-3 in the losing effort.
• Jewell was out-hit 14 to six.
