SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - In a game that featured 14 ties and nine lead changes, the William Jewell men's basketball team came out victorious on the road at Drury University, 73-69. The Cardinals improve to 6-7 on the season and 2-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Tied at 11 early, the Cardinals hit a string of three pointers by Ty Romero, Justice Sutton, and Ashton Jermain to go in front by eight with just under eight minutes to go in the first half. Drury followed with two triples of their own to get back in the game and take a two point lead. Bradley Lightbourne's traditional three point play just before the break sent Jewell to the locker room on top, 33-32. 
• Over the first 12 minutes of the second half, neither team could take more than a four point lead, both by the Panthers. Consecutive buckets by Sutton and Kanukayi Gudza gave Jewell a seven point cushion but the Panthers hit back-to-back triples to pull back within one with under 60 seconds on the clock. With Drury forced the foul, Sutton and Lightbourne converted on all six free throws to seal the win.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Sutton led three Cardinals in double figures with 21 while Lightbourne added 16 and Kyle Scharbrough, 15. 
• Gudza and Lightbourne each finished with four assists while the latter also had a team high eight rebounds. 
• The Cardinals forced 15 turnovers leading to 17 points while committing a season-low six turnovers themselves.
