LIBERTY, Mo - The William Jewell women's lacrosse team got their first win of the season in dominant fashion on Wednesday evening against Ottawa University, 20-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After Ottawa scored 11 seconds into the game Jewell went a tear, scoring four goals in the first quater led by Miranda Menousek who scored twice before the opening frame was over along with Toryn Podschwidt and Elle Eastwood who scored her second goal of the year.
• The scoring did not stop in the second quarter, Kaylee Gross started the action that saw seven goals scored by six different Cardinals including Elysa Atkinson who found the net for the first time this season.
• Up 12-2 with a running clock out of halftime, Jewell scored eight goals in the second half, including a second-half-hat-tricks from Gross and Podschwit. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Brynn Devers got the start in net, grabbing three saves while Claire Eastwood clocked two saves in here 16 minutes of action.
• Podschwit and Menousek both had a career-high five goals, while in all eight Cardinals scored at least one goal.
• Jewell out-shot the Braves 38 to 14, with 23 shots on goal to just 9 by Ottawa.
