SALT LAKE CITY - The William Jewell women's lacrosse team dropped their neutral site non-conference match up with No. 17 Regis University (Colo.) on Monday, the first of two games in Utah for the Cardinals this week. After the 16-5 loss, Jewell is 1-4 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the final seconds of the first quarter, freshman Rosie Grebe scored, putting Jewell on the board 2-1.
• After two Ranger goals to start the second quarter, Ella Childress scored the first of her two goals on the day, assisted by Miranda Menousek. Five unanswered Regis goals made it 9-2 at half.
• Jewell allowed six goals in the second half while scoring three themselves, but it was too much to mount the comeback.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

•  Brynn Devers started in net for the Cardinals, collecting six saves in her 38 minutes. Kailey Carreno tallied three saves.
• Jewell was out-shot 31-to-10, including a 25-to-eight mark in shots on goal.
