INDIANAPOLIS - William Jewell senior outfielder Mikayla Chairez has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletics Solutions weekly award winner in softball, as announced by the league office on Monday. This is the second career award for Chairez, and the second this season.

The Blue Springs, Mo. native helped the Cardinals go 4-0 on the weekend with sweeps of Upper Iowa and Quincy, the first wins over the Peacocks since 2016. In the four games, she hit .692 (9-for-14) with two walks and a .733 on base percentage while driving two triples and one home run. In game two, against Quincy, she finished 3-for-3 with a homer, triple, and two runs totaling four runs scored and three RBI on the weekend.
