Jewell Offense Stalls In Opening-Series Contest

LIBERTY, Mo. – The William Jewell baseball team fell to the Minot State Beavers on Friday afternoon, 17-1. The Cardinals are 4-8 headed into the weekend.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a 59 minute rain delay Minot State wasted no time, tallying 14 runs in the first four innings.
  • Redshirt sophomore Jack Lemasters entered out of the bullpen, striking out a career-high four batters.
  • After three runs in the sixth, Jewell managed to plate one run in the bottom of the seventh, dropping game one of the series 17-1.

KEY STATS
  • Taylor Brenneman received the loss after going three innings on the mound.
  • Braden Blundell tallied two hits, while Hayden Post and Bronson Ryan each had one.
  • Jewell was out-hit by 12 hits, 20-to-eight.

Jewell will continue the series with the Beavers Saturday at 1:00 PM.
